The Planechor Commitment

Do we want to push the underprivileged down into the dirt while we lounge in comfort, or should we help them afford clean energy?

Helping others is actually the best way to promote clean energy sources. Once impoverished individuals are lifted from poverty, they can forget the daily struggle of survival and focus on reducing pollution and adopt a long-term mindset. On top of that, people in these underprivileged places are our fellow humans, and we should help them, regardless. End of story.

"The top 1% of countries produce more CO2 than the bottom 66%" is an inaccurate way to think about clean energy. Since 1990, we've actually seen many major developed countries decouple their CO2 emissions from their GDP, indicating that a wealthy economy can afford to adopt cleaner and more efficient energy technologies.

We give 10% of our profits to the amazing humanitarian effort Heifer International to aid impoverished individuals around the globe. We also contribute annually to support development of new technologies, specialized education programs, and essential patient services to provide more accessible rehabilitation for injuries.

We believe the outdoors is for all, not just those with the means to afford expensive healthcare and treatment options, including those born with disabilities that prevent experiencing life in traditional ways. That's why we support physical medicine and rehabilitation research at the University of Utah with annual contributions! Our contribution
